What are the Elmer's the best at??? MOVING!!

That's right. We're moving again. But this time my parents purchased a house and since I'm still "mooching" off of them for a little longer I'm moving too! They are really excited about it and I'm happy for them. Of course the whole moving process is crazy and stressful, it should still be fun. I'll post more about the house and some pictures later for those interested in seeing it.

Just a quick post

I just read a poem that kind of has to do with my last post and wanted to share it.

You never know when someone
May catch a dream from you
You never know when a little word
Or something you may do
May open up the windows
Of a mind that seeks the light
The way you live may not matter at all,
But you never know - it might.

And just in case it could be
That another's life, through you,
Might possibly change for the better
With a broader and brighter view,
It seems it might be worth a try
At pointing the way to the right
Of course, it may not matter at all,
But then again - it might.

Late Night/Early Morning Jibberish

It's after 3 a.m. right now. I have been having trouble sleeping the past few days. Averaging about 2 hours a night, but tonight nothing is helping!! But on the good side I've had a lot of time to think these last few days.
This morning when I was walking out the door to leave for work, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful it was outside. We got lots of snow over night and it was quiet and nobody was moving yet. The best part about it was the family of birds that were singing their morning song. I don't know if they are unaware that they should be in New Mexico right now, maybe they missed the memo, but it was so nice to hear them. I had to do a double take to make sure that indeed there was 2 feet of snow and that I was dressed properly in my snow boots and big snow jacket, gloves and a hat and not a warm summer morning. Even though it's scary to drive in it, I do love the snow. It's just incredible.
Something else I think is incredible.... Facsimile machines (aka fax machine) How in the world does it send the information through a telephone line??? It's always something that has seriously perplexed my little brain. I don't know if I could handle the answer even so I'm letting it be one of those questions I won't know the answer to until I die. I've accepted that and it's okay.
In a world where there is so much tribulation and dangers and heartache everywhere, at times overwhelming, there is much to complain about. But today even though I really wish I were sleeping, if I were I wouldn't be thinking about this, and I know it's going to be rough come 6 a.m. when I'll need to start getting ready for my long day ahead, I'm going to find the good things in life. It's in those small things that we find our hope. The other day I was at the gas station filling up and there was a guy about my age just on the other side of my pump. We were all scraping and wiping our cars off because it was snowing so hard you couldn't keep up, and this young man walked over to another car and started scraping off her car. Both of our cars finished up at the same time and as I was getting into my car I glanced over at this nice man and he motioned for me to go first, then said he would wait to make sure I got out alright. His kindness, such small acts, warmed my heart. It gave me hope in mankind. Going to church a few weeks ago and hearing a sweet little five year old tell a story about how God answered her sweet and trusting prayer gave me hope not only in Heavenly Father but also in the next generation. They are so strong already, what will they do with the world when it comes time for them to take over? All is not lost in the world today. So many things to see, lets all keep a watch out for these small things and see what a big difference it can make on our lives. And maybe, just maybe, we can find ourselves inspiring others.

Happy New Year 2009

I can't believe it's 2009 already. So many things have changed. I can't believe it's been almost 9 years since I graduated high school and 5 years since I finished college. Time flies. I'm excited though to start a new year. A fresh start.

"For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning."
- T.S. Eliot

"The object of a new year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul."
- G.K. Chesterton

"Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us."
- Hal Borland

"Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better man."
- Benjamin Franklin

I'm ready to go, ready to start another year, ready to face more challenges, ready to face my fears, ready to learn and grow and become more wise, ready to move on. Life has so much to offer and I'm ready to take full advantage of that. A new year means a new hope. Hope for things to come. Happy New Year everyone!

Emilee and Stacie

Going down the hill in a train backwards... we were coming up with all sorts of ways to go down the hill. Emilee, Anthony, Ashlee, Me, and you can't really see him but Jason is behind me.

READY, SET, PUSH!!!

We were trying to make a star or something of that sort going down the hill. It was probably the funnest until we hit the bottom. We crashed pretty good, I thought for sure my nose was broken, but alas, everything is fine!

My sweet mom. She was such a good sport about coming and watching us. She also took most of these pictures. She looks so cute all bundled up.

Anthony was tuckered out by the end, look at his face...

This year on New Years Eve I was invited to my friends Heather and Brian's house for a party. Heather and I went shopping on our lunch break for decorations, it was so much fun just shopping. That night we played games and ate junk and laughed so hard. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I had so much fun, but come 2:30 or so in the morning I was pretty much comatose but still needed to get back home. I couldn't even get my coat on or walk straight so Brian, Heather's husband, offered to drive me home because nobody believed me when I said I was just fine! I was glad though that he drove me home because I was pretty bad off! Thanks Heather and Brian for such a great night and making sure I got home safe!

After going to Party Land to get decorations and such Heather and I thought it would be fun to wear the masks the whole drive back to work. It was crazy funny! I'm sure we looked ridiculous to other drivers but we didn't care at all!!

Oh la la.... Sexy Stacie and Heather

All the pretty girls... We all mostly celebrated inside whilst the boys were outside doing what boys do best... causing trouble! Don't ya just love my big pageant hair!! I have no idea why it looks so voluptuous in this picture but it does!

Christmas Celebration With the Byers

Every year we go over to the Byers' house, my mom's brother and sister-in-law, for Christmas. This year we did it a few days later so that we could all be together. Ben and Ashlee flew in the day after Christmas. It's been so much fun spending time with them. We always draw names but this year to spice it up we also drew different ways to wrap the gifts. We had everything from stockings to boxes, quilts to pinatas, brown paper bag to homemade wrapping. It was so much fun!! The little kids had fun too playing together.
